Putting back the sparkles in my eyes!

Now that I'm not getting any younger, I try to get enough sleep each night (between six and seven) to minimize shadows and puffiness on my eye zone area. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then I want mine to be wide open and sparkling especially when I'm in front of my little learners. I started using gentle eye cream (from Oriflame) that contains vitamin K and the natural skin-lighteners kojic acid and licorice extract to erase sleepy-looking circles and early morning puffiness (especially during times that I'm fatigued and slept late). What I'm using may not be the best under eye cream but it helps minimize shadows and puffiness. Dark circles are minimized, eyes appear rested and fresher.

How about you? Do you use under eye cream? I would love to hear from you. Your experiences can help me better determine which eye cream works and which doesn't.

Where's Hyzyd?

We were shopping at Tops Supermarket with Hyzyd, of course and it's quite stressful having to go shopping with a toddler who just wants to explore. I want to get things done and have a look at things while Hyzyd wants to see how far away he can get from me or just check out what the shops have to offer - toy cars and free grapes for testing!

Hyzyd who will be turning 2 loves to get out and discover. As soon as we got to our destination, he wanted to get out and run. This made it difficult to do anything as he needed to be watched closely. I just picked a loaf bread and when I turned around, Hyzyd is nowhere to be found! I panicked and asked the security guard in my crooked Thai that I lost my baby. The security guard found him at the fruit section munching on his favorite grapes! He just gleefully screamed when he saw me and ran teasingly for me to catch him. It didn't worry him a bit. He loved his adventures. This incident freaked me out. It reminds me of a true story I read on Reader's Digest that they lost their 4-year old son in the mall and they never find him. God forbid!

Losing Hyzyd for just a moment created real anxiety on me. So, the notion of tagging my kid with a little gps tracker gadget before heading to the mall or park is very tempting. Do you know any GPS device that is suited for a 2-year-old toddler? A GPS kids devices that can be worn as a watch isn't good for Hyzyd. He doesn't want anything attached to his wrist. He couldn't yet determine when or where to press a panic button to alert us. I'm ok with those devices that can be activated by the parents with a phone call or text message to the device, which will the “answer” with the exact location of the device. But these gps devices will not be needed if I'll shop with hubby-I'll focus on shopping while hubby look for Hyzyd. Now that's division of labor and lovesengihnampakgigi.

Sentiments of Jenny

Just wondering tonight of when could I ever write a post without that feeling of being chased of time? I limit myself to blog for an hour, two at most so I'm always cramming- checking emails (1293 unread inbox messages...I don't even get the chance to delete those mails that I don't need!), checking facebook, doing writing tasks (if I get assignment),reading blogs, leaving comments (if have time), staring blankly on the monitor and time is up already!

I love writing away my thoughts but writing doesn't come to me easily. Do you know that lately I'm almost convinced that I don't have the knack of a blogger? If I'm truly a blogger, wouldn't I be more creative in my writing? I couldn't even attest that I'm making even one quality content that will make a reader come back to my blog! Wait, I'm expecting readers? At first, I'm not . "Who would love to read a blog whose written by an ordinary teacher?", I told myself. I don't have a glamorous life to boast about and no fantabulous experiences that worth sharing. But when I read the blogs of ordinary people like me who simply shared their life experiences , I learned something. Writing with complete honesty , no pretensions and bringing their personality in writing make a blogger's post unique , authentic and genuine. I like that!

Like I told you, I always on the cramming-mode that I usually publish my content without spending more time on editing and proofreading it. I know it's not a good practice. My bad! Is it because I have made up my mind that my post won't be a hit and the content is lame? If that's what I think about my work, how could I convince you to read on, right?

I have some issue with my confidence in writing. I envy (in a righteous way) those bloggers who posted on their FB account the links of their newly published articles. I seldom do that. Why? I'm not yet confident with my writing ability (maybe a residue of the negative feedback I received from my TESOL teacher) . I wonder when could I ever create a post that will make someone to begin thinking more deeply about whatever I've written? Wishful thinking...:ha?:

Hey, I've been told that if you've been short on a creative idea (just like me now) , just put your feet up and lie down. I probably need that folks because it's already breaking dawn. Do you know that being a couch potato is great for boosting our brain and creativity? There's a research that finds that we are smarter and more creative lying down than standing up (how about sitting down?) It seems less of the neurotransmitter noradrenaline is released to the brain when you're horizontal, so you're creative thinking isn't impaired.

Okay good night friends. I need to sharpen my brain with a good lie down.

Back on surfing!

We got back our internet connection last Monday after 2 months and 17 days of waiting. But still I don't have all the time on earth to blog...but usually I spent it on surfing the net. Once I'm in front of our PC, I'm having trouble focusing on my main work like making grades and writing pending tasks (Oh my, my entry about Texas Maritime lawyers will be due today!)because I'm having fun reading other engaging blogs, reading my friends update on FB (though I seldom leave comments and updating my status), scanning photos, clicking on web links with interesting headlines. Hmmmm, surfing the net can be fun and sometimes it can be a tremendous waste of time for me.

It's 5:00 am already time to prepare for school. See yah!

Blogging brings lots of knowledge to me

I blogged for almost two years already and it truly brings lots of knowledge to me.I could already share some tips to make money online. I started to get aware of all the small to big things present on the internet. Also blogging teach me to use internet resources effectively.

One time, I was asked to write about vertical doors. Aren't all doors stand vertically? I asked myself ignorantly. If I'm not familiar with a specific subject assigned to me I do my own research. I won't write about the topic unless I have an inkling about it. Why would I pretend to be knowledgeable about a certain subject even if I'm not? So thanks to blogging that I was led to understand vertical doors . They refer to automobile doors that rotate vertically at a fixed hinge at the front of the door, rather than outwardly as with a conventional door. Vertical doors are also known as scissor doors , beetle-wing doors, jack-knife doors, switchblade doors, Lamborghini doors, and Lambo doors.

Here in Thailand, I already saw few cars with vertical doors near the eat-all-you-can restaurant we used to dine. I've heard from my brother that vertical doors can be custom-made and door installations is like 2000 bucks roughly. It's not that bad if you've got a good paying job (which I'm not). But I've heard that true car enthusiasts that care about performance over look will use that $2,000.00 and put it to something more useful. For $2,000.00 that's already a good Cyl-Head job or a good suspension. That's where they'd put their money.

Paris Hilton and her sassy vertical doors car (photo: http://www.carzi.com)

Vertical door kits are the new image creating tools revving up car lovers all over the world. If you and your wheels need a celebrity style (like Paris Hilton) make-over, opt for one of the snazzy transformation kits - that is if you can get your hands on one.

If ever we'll have our car, would I use vertical doors? I will still prefer the conventional door. The manufacture cost of the door hinge can be more than that of a conventional door. In the event of a rollover, emergency egress may be more difficult than with conventional doors, if not impossible.I won't feel comfortable with vertical doors, it will surely draw too much attention to me.

You see, blogging helps me get acquainted with vertical doors.

meet the 7 year old gospel singer sensation

It was my sister-in-law who first told me about this 7 year old gospel singer named Rhema Marvanne. Rhema began singing the same time she began talking. It was less than a year ago Rhema recorded her first song, Amazing Grace and quickly became an Internet singing sensation. She takes tremendous inspiration from her mother, Wendi Marvanne Voraritskul, who sadly lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2008. It is Rhema's greatest hope to make her mother proud, both as a singer and as a servant of God, which is why she also performs for at churches, non-profit organizations, charities, hospitals and special events.

What an amazing voice she had! I'm so blessed of her life and testimony of how great our God is. Rhema's "CHRISTMAS ALBUM" will be released October 15. You can purchase the CD at http://www.RhemaMarvanne.com.

Busy as bees in the campus

Last year was my first year teaching kindergarten. I was a grade school teacher here in our school for the past 2 years but when the administration decided to try out English program in Kinder 1, they promoted me here. LOL! I thought I couldn't make it but to God be the glory that it was a success and English program for Kinder 1 is continued this year with more learners. One thing I like about being assigned in Kindergarten department is that we have Thai teacher partners to take care order and management inside the classroom plus we don't need to make grades. But not this year. We were asked to make grades and report cards! It's really a big work if you're handling thousands of students. It really takes time to make grades, I tell you. Thanks to my co-teacher who's good in Microsoft excel where I'll just tally the students grade and voila total points and average grades were computed automatically. It's still a long way to go before I'll be able to finish filling up the report cards.

By the way, the school's semester will end next week. So everybody are busy as a bee. I wonder if I could even blog? Students will be taking their final exams, teachers will be busy checking test papers, finalizing grades, submitting report cards, drafting lesson plans for next semester and printing worksheets for our English camp that will commence on October 4. I saw our school registrar distributing promotional products like pens, umbrellas and key chains to the parents and visiting students to promote our school. We'll expect more students this coming semester or the next school year.

Black Beauty

I just watched Bride Wars and Anne Hathaway-style fake tan failure with that streaking and orange looking skin is a nightmare to those who loves tanning.

Many popular names from Hollywood usually sports a tanned look. Why do they like tanned skin? The first and probably the most common reason why a deep, dark tan is wanted by many is that the bronzed effect instills a high sense of beauty in the person that has it. If you acquire a beautiful tan, you will quickly see that more and more people notice you. Your gorgeous skin will reflect beautifully in any type of lighting, and it is highly likely that you will be the center of attention, regardless of where you are. Not only will you look great with a gorgeous tan, but you will feel great as well!

I noticed these days that celebrities used best indoor tanning lotions on the market instead of turning to a tanning bed or worshiping the sun to get their sexy bronze glow because these habits can and will create damage to skin; such as early wrinkling and a thickening of the skin which can have the skin looking like leather and with prolonged use even promote skin cancer. I'm pretty sure no one wants to age any faster than Mother Nature intended. So that's it.

Thank God I'm forever tanned without using tanning lotion! Don't you know that our morena-looking skin is the envy of the white? Our dark skin makes us appear healthier and sexier than them. Won't you agree?

Cheer up, black beauties!

Would this be Angelina Jolie's diet secret?

One of my favorite actresses is Angelina Jolie . I really liked her in her new movie, SALT- in which she plays a CIA agent trying to prove she is not a Russian spy. Angelina filmed the movie only 6 months after giving birth to the twins, which is a pretty amazing feet to get back into that good of shape that quick.

I read in Globe that the “Sexiest Woman In America”, Angelina Jolie, used Hoodia to drop her 25lbs of baby fat super fast. Malcolm Balfour reports that “Angelina appears to have already lost most of the 25 lbs she gained during the pregnancy… in fact, she looked toned and fit just 19 DAYS after giving birth….”

How has she done it? Sources in the arid African country wonder if she has been using the miracle slimming extract Hoodia. Hoodia is a cactus that grows in the south African desert.

Dr. Richard Goldfarb - The medical director of research and development at Bucks County Clinical Research had this to say after he done test on hoodia...

"The appetite suppressant effect -- after it accumulates in your system, after only a few days we saw in our study -- People will cut their calories probably in less than half and not desire any additional food."

Weight loss expert Madelyn Fernstrom says...

"You strip off the skin, you strip off the spines, then you Eat it and you won't want to eat anything else"

Wanna be sexy like Angelina Jolie? It's up to you to look for that Hoodia...he..he...

The reason why I didn't use diet pills

Remember my post about considering diet pills. I was serious at about that because I was so desperate to lose weight as soon as possible. In here, a number of weight-loss pills are available at local drugstore, 7/11 convenience store and in Watsons or Boots. I did my homework before trying any weight-loss pills. I also check the FDA Web site for alerts about safety concerns and product recalls. I read reviews about diet pills that claimed to be safe weight loss pills to further know about their effectiveness and safety.

I haven't yet tried any diet pills because as I said it would be my last resort if my seven-day meal plan won't work. Because it works for me, I'll just stick to my strict diet coupled with exercise.

The best way to reach our ideal weight is with regular exercise, diet and nutrition.

When I can I have my own fireplace?

The only fireplace I knew was my my grandma's dirty kitchen where she cooked her delicious champorado (Filipino's comfort food-chocolate rice porridge). I once asked my father to build a fireplace in our living room just like the fireplaces I saw in the movies. I love the idea of reading my favorite fairytale books near a fireplace. It felt cozy and romantic. My father was patient enough to explain to me that we don't need a fireplace. We don't need more heat inside the house. Other countries like America, China and many others that experience a very cold temperature needs a fireplace to give them heat.

Since then I desired to leave in a cold country just to have a fireplace in my living room. LOL! It was just a foolish dream of a five-year old who wants to read and relax near a fireplace. But still at my age I'm still tempted to view celebrity homes' fireplace photos.

This is the fireplace in Christie Brinkley's beach house in Bridgehampton that's been up for sale. Isn't the seashell art on the mantel just amazing! I wish there was a larger picture of it.

In this modern days, residents of some of the toniest downtown high-rises may find it hard to take their eyes off spectacular views of city lights and autumn sunsets. But when they share an intimate moment with friends, chances are good that the fireplace they gather around will be electric- electric fireplace insert like the one below captures the mood without the mess:

How I wish Thailand is a cold country! LOL!

Kinilaw Moment

I'm really craving for kinilaw. I haven't eaten this cuisine for quite some time but not today! We found the perfect squid-so fresh and not-so-expensive. Hubby prepared kinilaw with grilled pork! It's so yummy! He first brings together the onions, ginger, salt, sili (chili), and vinegar, leaving them to synergize. They are added to the sliced squid just before serving, so that the kinilaw moment comes just moments before the first bite.

Get to know Herpes

My attention was drawn to the old billboard near our place and read the only English word "Family Day". I was reminded of the photo below the first Family Day I ever attended here in Thailand. I was invited by a Thai friend with his family to join them because they treated me as their eldest. I came to knew them in the chirch where I fellowshipped before and most of the church members commented that we're like sisters-I'm the older version of Mona (that's the name of the girl next to me). That's the start of our acquaintance and friendship.

April 14 each year is observed as Family Day in Thailand. The observance has been part of the Songkran period since 1991. As Songkran Festival brings family members for reunions, the Thai government in 1990 decided to designate April 14 Family Day. The designation is meant to underline the importance of the family institution.

It was during this time that the speaker talk about the morality of Thai has gradually deteriorated. If my memory serves me right, she also mentioned that figures like-half of the general population actually have herpes. Only a third of the infected population show visible signs of herpes. The other two thirds with who have can only transmit the virus to other people. That sounds a bit much, but I'm only going by what I heard. Herpes is an infection that is caused by a herpes simplex virus (HSV). Oral herpes causes cold sores around the mouth or face. Genital herpes affects the genitals, buttocks or anal area. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). You can get it from having sex, even oral sex. The virus can spread even when sores are not present. Mothers can also infect their babies during childbirth.

Some people have no symptoms. Others get sores near the area where the virus has entered the body. They turn into blisters, become itchy and painful, and then heal. The virus can be dangerous in newborn babies or in people with weak immune systems.

Most people have outbreaks several times a year. Over time, you get them less often. Medicines to help your body fight the virus can help lessen symptoms and decrease outbreaks. Correct usage of latex condoms can reduce, but not eliminate, the risk of catching or spreading herpes.

When I heard about this, I remembered that Kris Aquino once came out publicly with the fact that she has herpes (generally she was referring to Genital Herpes, a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) or type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2.)- a brave plight appreciated by all those affected HSV.

It's truly inspiring when someone in a position of influence makes the choice to stand up and be counted as a person infected with herpes.

Now listen up. There is nothing terrible about herpes. It is a medical condition that is treatable. I wish that more celebrities would speak out about their herpes condition someday because they could make a lot of young men and women feel more normal rather than stigmatized. And with attention comes education, and perhaps a few more people would get the treatment that is easily obtainable.

Here are some tips on dealing with herpes:

* Talk to your doctor if you think you may have herpes.
* Remember that you're not alone. Millions of people have herpes.
* Keep yourself healthy and limit your stress.
* Don't touch your sores.
* Tell your sex partner and use condoms.

This seven-day meal plan works for me

I once found a torn magazine in church about the seven-day meal plan that claims to get rid of tummy fat first (you could stop searching the net for answers on how to lose weight coz you could see you drop 7lb in a week if you follow it right).

Here's the easiest way ever to get on the plan-just follow these rules for one week (no more, though, this is strictly a fast fix)...

1. Breakfast on eggs. Boil them, scramble them, poach them, fry them, make them into an omelette with a couple of extra whites, but for the next week it's only eggs for breakfast. Add 1 tomato or a glass of tomato or fresh vegetable juice (not carrot) as well.

2. Make lunch a portion of lean protein (fish, chicken, turkey, ham) with lots and lots of salad veggies.

3. make dinner more fish, chicken or lean steak with lots of boiled, stir-fried or casseroled vegetables.

4. If you want snack, have a 50g(20z)serving of any low-fat cheese or 75g (30z) cottage cheese. Haven't tried this instead I ate wheat crackers for snacks.

I tried this plan and I could say it works! Try this and maybe it will work for you too and you'll get a flatter tummy!

Look! I was skinny!

Gone were the days where I could eat all I can without worrying of gaining weight. In fact, I tried as much as possible to eat as much as I can so that I’ll gain weight. Why? I was sick and tired of my friends comment every time they see me. They always told me that I’m so skinny (and undernourished) as if I just recovered from being sick. They make sure they sounded sympathetic and yes they’re successful in making me feel sickly and ugly. In my desperation, I even spent hundreds for propan vitamins just to gain weight. I believed before that I would look younger, fairer and sexier if I could just add few pounds to my skinny figure.

This was 6 years ago. I looked taller here and darker…LOL! I weighed only 43 kilos then and with a 24 cm waistline!

Fast forward, after 6 years, I gained weight…more weight than I ever wanted that I tried my best to shed off those excess pounds. I even came to the point of considering diet pills to trim down and be the skinny girl I disliked before. What an irony! After my diet story shared to you in my previous post, I lost weight, not yet my ideal but I’m still working on it.

This was taken yesterday. I weigh 46.3 kilos and I knew how to pose compared to my old me (LOL!) but the hairdo stayed the same after all those years ..ha..ha! I still need to exercise to see curves on my waist part (hey I can now wear my jag pants with 26 cm waistline!) , get rid of tummy fats and flabby arms!

Hassle-free handa is my forte

I always wanted a hassle-free handa (celebration). This coming October, there are lots of events to be celebrated- our 3rd wedding anniversary, our 2-year old Hyzyd's birthday , my father's 53rd birthday (if he'll come with my mom and sisters)and my niece first birthday. For my baby, he's an easily impressed breed, and there is no need to spend lots of time or money on the celebration. I always remember what my father told me "Remember that you are the one who creates the expectations that your child has". We'll simply invite a few favorite friends over for a celebration of cake and ice cream. We'll not forget to put candles on every letters of "Happy Birthday" on his cake because he loves blowing candles!
This candle blowing took place one Sunday during our minister and his daughter's birthday. Hyzyd helped blowing the candles!

Want a a hassle-free handa? Try these ways:

1.Stay Home.On this way, we can party all we want, I do away with the unease, and save money.
2.Keep it short. The list, I mean. By holding the party at my place, we will automatically limit the invites to those I want . Often, a short text serves as an invite (we call in here because it rates the same with texting). A follow-up often unnecessary these ways. Thus, no need for that whole RSVP business.
3. Hire a caterer! Instead of turning our kitchen into a circus, why not call a caterer? But here in Thailand where could I find someone who'll not only take care of the chow, but will also fix our place as well. Could I find one that will accommodate my personal whims and tastes but has a particular strength as well for only 5K baht?
Tell me, am I cheap like Mr. Krabs or am I just practical?

My Diet Story

Looking back merely two years ago when I conceived Hyzyd, I couldn't believed that I would reached 143 lbs (65 kg)! That's 44 lbs (20 kilos) more than my usual 99 pounds (45 kilos) weight. After giving birth I reduced to 121 lbs (55 kg). I carried that weight until Hyzyd reached a year old. Then, I gradually loss pounds until I reached 110 lbs (50 kg). A friend commented that I should not fret with that weight because someone who's age and height the same with me (I'm 29 and stands 155.44 cm) belongs to the normal weight (114.4 lbs or 52 kilos is the maximum weight , by the way, and beyond that weight is already considered obese, that's according to her). I need to validate this fact, though.

a month after giving birth on year 2008

It was ok at first to accept that I'm just healthy and I seem to enjoy my chubbiness for quite some time. But every time I pose for picture-taking, I cringe watching those muffin tops- the strange and bizarre waist scrunching effect that results when I wear tight-fitting blouses. My flabby arms are getting on the way and it's very annoying! I couldn't face how I become! I decided to do something. I searched and read other bloggers' stories of diets that work successfully for them. I chose to follow the diet that suggests eating meals regularly and had earlier dinners. Having meals on time and dinner earlier is good for this helps me eat larger portions than normal and is usually only done when I'm not hungry. Not sleeping with a full stomach is also very important as what my grandma used to say.

I cut sugary and fried foods. This means no more Swensen's ice cream, milk tea, and french fries. It's a great help when we moved because mall isn't accessible for me anymore. Unlike before that I could just sneak out anytime to Diana Mall for a dip of McDonald's sundae or Swensen's Ice Cream. Though sugary foods do boost your energy but also increase your weight!

I changed from unhealthy snacks to fruits and wheat crackers. They sustain my hunger and also fill me up plus they are low in calories. I hope this eating pattern will continually shed the pounds and keep it off.

recent photo of me weighing 101.9 lbs (46.3 kilos)

I know my weight loss isn't really the ideal, it's slow and gradual. It could be sped up with exercises, though but you know I'm lazy when it comes to that.

Staying beautiful with that bridal glow

As our third wedding anniversary is fast approaching, I wonder if I still have that illustrious glow I had before I get married. I could remember that I follow a certain monthly bridal beauty regimento ensure that I'll be a beautiful bride on my wedding day three years ago. For such an occassion , looking "good" just doesn't cut it. I need to look once-in-a-lifetime fabulous! I thought that it would be my only moment in my life to actually command all to rise from their seats to feast their eyes upon my beauty as I walk into view (I don't care even if I knew that I'll be in veil most of the time) .

To ensure my most radiant self walks down that aisle on October 18, 2007 I used acne cream to get rid of acne. I couldn't tolerate them sprouting all over my face on my BIG day. To ensure positively glowing skin on my wedding day, I started a regimen of monthly facials visited . I tried my best to get in shape. I started a fitness and nutrition routine that I can live with - and stick with until our wedding day . I planned my look. I started growing my hair because I want it longer. I made a drastic decision to color my hair mahogany after a month of rebonding. Here's what it looks a month before the wedding:

This is the only closest photo I can find before the wedding. I'm sorry that the photo shows more of my legs than the colored hair. LOL!

A month before the wedding day I schedule a teeth cleaning. I do consider whitening my teeth but my budget didn't allow it.

On the day of my wedding day, I ate breakfast in the hotel. Good that they offered a breakfast with fibrous carbs and lean protein for energy. They knew that I'll be married that day.I began my hair about three hours in advance, followed by makeup. Then all I did the rest of the ceremony is to relax and smile.

Every bride must believe that they look fabulous on their wedding day!

PS. Need to change the photo on my wedding day...I'm blogging here in the shop:(

A need to DATE

When both husband and wife work, the stress of running a household and raising children can make life seem like an endless treadmill, with little time for each other, too little time together and too much to do.

I don't want the romance we shared and enjoyed as young lovers will slowly fade its light. So yesterday, when hubby fetched me at school around 5 pm, I asked him coyly if we could grab dinner first at our favorite steakhouse, Mr. Steak, before fetching Hyzyd with his babysitter because I'm famished already. The truth is, I miss my hubby so much. I miss talking to him without interruptions. I miss holding his hands. I miss just being together. I miss dating him.

My date, my hubby

Is it that obvious that I miss him that much?

I'm such a clingy here as if we don't live in one roof! (Har har!)

We ate braised lemongrass pork, crumbed prawns, beef steak and teriyaki ground pork and talked. We talked about what we did last week, about our plans for next week. We talked about our Hyzyd, our families, our work, our church and friends.

Hubby ordered Beef steak and Teriyaki Ground Pork for only ฿169 ($5.46)

I have Braised lemongrass pork and crumbed prawns for only ฿129 ($4.17)

It's nice to have this get-reacquianted moment once a week. It will surely help restore the electricity flowing and ignites a steady flame of love between us (not to mention the yummy food I'll get while dating...LOL!) .

Date your partner now! See the wonders it bring to your relationship.

Earning $1000 through blogging is possible!

I already earned roughly about $1000 just by blogging (inconsistently) in a span of a year and a half not to mention the cash prizes I won in blog contests/giveaways I joined. It's just now that I realized that I could earn MORE if only I have MORE TIME. This amount is already BIG for me but it's just a dime compared to other bloggers who earned this figure for a month and a nickel to those earning a thousand dollar in just a day!

If my hubby and my little bro happen to read this, they maybe flushing with excitement coz this may mean a pair of Dapper sneakers and 5 lbs GNC Whey protein for my sweetie and the guitar accessories my bro has been asking me for a couple of months now. As much as I love to give them what they desire, how could I when that $1000 has already been withdrawn and spent bit by bit.

How I wish I didn't know yet how to verify my paypal account. In that way I would be forced to just leave that money there and wait for it to reach into six figures (after a century, maybe)...Har har!

I started withdrawing my first $100 from paypal during my sis-in-law's birthday last year. I wanted to surprise her with large boxes of Crunchy Bacon Cheese Pizza .The next sweet taste of my blogging earning was last october when my parents came to visit us. I brought my mom to Swensen's Ice cream parlour and ordered the largest serving they could offer! Our next stop was at Tesco Lotus women's department where I let my mom chose blouses and dresses she likes and tried them all in the fitting room! We bought about 4 or 5 blouses on that day.

A portion of my blogging money were spent at FQ and L Fashion Store. It was my first time spending lavishly for clothes. It was my first time handing the store's clerk a thousand baht for just a pair of pants ! If you knew me , my favorite shopping center is the flea market where I could buy pants for only a hundred baht and 3 Tops for 100 baht! It was my first time to spend 900 baht for a soft-muted tops and 800 baht worth of shorts too. It was my hubby who encouraged me to shop something expensive for myself without feeling guilty.

For the past two months, no cash flows into my paypal account. How do you expect someone with a full-time work, no netbook on her own (if I have I could blog on my free time between classes coz we have Wi-fi) and disconnected from internet service (hopefully, they'll connect us this week coz I already received the telephone number assigned to us) to blog? My paypal account flashed $0.00 on its dashboard for so long already . How I wish I could see figures on it soon. I do have some pending payout from SocialSpark but I couldn't withdraw it unless it reaches the $50 threshold. I'm only $2.50 short but it's impossible to grab opportunities these days. I always received notification that I'm qualified for a certain writing task but when I grabbed it, I'm always placed in the waiting list. In Inpostlinks, I temporarily stopped reserving opportunities because the amount they offer are depressing. Imagine writing 200 words for only 0.50-$1.00 and some topics like welch allyn medical devices, Ferrari brut or car spoilers needs an hour or more for me to be able to come up with a post that relates them to my fashion blog or to my parenting blog. If I have enough understanding or good knowledge of a certain topic then I could write for 30 minutes (at maximum).

Before I am disappointed when Payu2blog failed to give me tasks for the week but since we moved and with no internet I just felt alright even I don't have tasks from them in consecutive weeks. It's better that way than failing to submit my entry before the due date. It could mar my reputation and may lead to lesser opportunities in the future.

When I could get back online (hopefully soon as I expected), I hope to grab more writing opportunities and earn more for a cause. I will not disclose my project yet. I can be pertinacious and single-minded in the pursuit of this goal though it may mean waking up again as early as 3:00 am!

Wishing to see my next $1000 in less than a year.

What's up Gene?

Internet Update

Few days from now we'll definitely have our internet connection. We're already given the telephone number assigned to us last week and I paid the $200 baht fee for the transfer. That's what they termed "transfer fee" but they gave us $200 worth of prepaid card where I could use for domestic and international calling. Not bad, eh?

My previous account with TOT (Telephone Organization of Thailand ) was cancelled when we moved in our present location so we apply for a new account. It took more than 2 months before our telephone number became available. We are that willing to wait rather than to wait for 6 months in another telephone company. With an existing phone line, a high-speed internet service by ADSL technology (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) comes next. It has a maximum of 4 Mbps download speed and 512 Kbps maximum uploading speed in always-on connection and unlimited internet access for only 590 Baht per month.

Starry night with KBS

We already have cable TV at home (it's free connection from our landlady) and I'm glad that finally I could watch some English news-Fox News, Aljazeera, and Channel NewsAsia, English movies from Syfy and Universal Channel, documentaries from Granada TV, Australia Network and AFC, sports from Eurosports and entertainment from Channel V. They have cartoon networks but most of them were dubbed in Thai (the voices used are always the same tone, and just doesn't match the programs. They made Scooby Doo , Barney or Sesame Street launch fail:( ). They have handful educational show but they used the Thai language. Oh, my night will be more romantic again with the Korean love stories:).

Teachers need to be appreciated

I already finished my final examination for my K-2 learners except for three sections. I'm done with the grades, too. It's time to plan my lessons and draft my worksheets for our English camp that will commence on October 4 and ends on October 15. The K- 1 teacher told me this morning that most of her students enrolled because they love to have me again on English camp. Am I that good? Oh how I love my students. They really made my day so colorful today. It felt great to know that you're loved.

For teachers like me, appreciation means a lot to keep us going.
