Fitness flash!

Do you like reading Diet Success Stories? I do. They're inspiring because they lost 10Kg each simply by changing the way they eat (though one admit that she's taking one of the top fat burners before she took the natural way of losing weight. One shares that her weight loss secrets are the following :

  • She cut sugary and fried foods.
  • She ate meals regularly and had earlier dinners.
  • She changed from unhealthy snacks to fruit and plain crackers.
With what she shares, I doubt if she could keep the weight off. According to the Dietician, her weight loss is ideal, slow and gradual. It could be sped up with exercises, though. Having meals on time and earlier dinners are good practices . Not sleeping with a full stomach is also very important. Sugary foods do boosts her energy but also increases her weight!Yes, snacks like fruits and crackers with fiber will sustain hunger and fill one up plus they are low in calories.

The verdict of her diet practice is OK. This eating pattern will shed the pounds and keep it off. We can try this diet, too. If it works for this woman, then it will work for us!

This seven-day meal plan works for me

I once found a torn magazine in church about the seven-day meal plan that claims to get rid of tummy fat first (you could stop searching the net for answers on how to lose weight coz you could see you drop 7lb in a week if you follow it right).

Here's the easiest way ever to get on the plan-just follow these rules for one week (no more, though, this is strictly a fast fix)...

1. Breakfast on eggs. Boil them, scramble them, poach them, fry them, make them into an omelette with a couple of extra whites, but for the next week it's only eggs for breakfast. Add 1 tomato or a glass of tomato or fresh vegetable juice (not carrot) as well.

2. Make lunch a portion of lean protein (fish, chicken, turkey, ham) with lots and lots of salad veggies.

3. make dinner more fish, chicken or lean steak with lots of boiled, stir-fried or casseroled vegetables.

4. If you want snack, have a 50g(20z)serving of any low-fat cheese or 75g (30z) cottage cheese. Haven't tried this instead I ate wheat crackers for snacks.

I tried this plan and I could say it works! Try this and maybe it will work for you too and you'll get a flatter tummy!

My Diet Story

Looking back merely two years ago when I conceived Hyzyd, I couldn't believed that I would reached 143 lbs (65 kg)! That's 44 lbs (20 kilos) more than my usual 99 pounds (45 kilos) weight. After giving birth I reduced to 121 lbs (55 kg). I carried that weight until Hyzyd reached a year old. Then, I gradually loss pounds until I reached 110 lbs (50 kg). A friend commented that I should not fret with that weight because someone who's age and height the same with me (I'm 29 and stands 155.44 cm) belongs to the normal weight (114.4 lbs or 52 kilos is the maximum weight , by the way, and beyond that weight is already considered obese, that's according to her). I need to validate this fact, though.

a month after giving birth on year 2008

It was ok at first to accept that I'm just healthy and I seem to enjoy my chubbiness for quite some time. But every time I pose for picture-taking, I cringe watching those muffin tops- the strange and bizarre waist scrunching effect that results when I wear tight-fitting blouses. My flabby arms are getting on the way and it's very annoying! I couldn't face how I become! I decided to do something. I searched and read other bloggers' stories of diets that work successfully for them. I chose to follow the diet that suggests eating meals regularly and had earlier dinners. Having meals on time and dinner earlier is good for this helps me eat larger portions than normal and is usually only done when I'm not hungry. Not sleeping with a full stomach is also very important as what my grandma used to say.

I cut sugary and fried foods. This means no more Swensen's ice cream, milk tea, and french fries. It's a great help when we moved because mall isn't accessible for me anymore. Unlike before that I could just sneak out anytime to Diana Mall for a dip of McDonald's sundae or Swensen's Ice Cream. Though sugary foods do boost your energy but also increase your weight!

I changed from unhealthy snacks to fruits and wheat crackers. They sustain my hunger and also fill me up plus they are low in calories. I hope this eating pattern will continually shed the pounds and keep it off.

recent photo of me weighing 101.9 lbs (46.3 kilos)

I know my weight loss isn't really the ideal, it's slow and gradual. It could be sped up with exercises, though but you know I'm lazy when it comes to that.

On my way to better health

The school just started but we're already on holiday! Today is Visakha Bucha Day , a public holiday in Thailand. Another holiday is coming up on Monday to celebrate Royal Ploughing Ceremony. I got a chance to mingle with my girl friends and one topic we discussed is about how to lose weight.

I shared to them that we should make wise food choices, deal with our stress, and making physical activity a priority could help shed some weight. My "body-conscious" friend told us that all of what I mentioned are impossible to gain result if the mental aspect of weight loss is overlooked. I did agree with her because I remembered my mom telling me that if she didn't commit to lose some weight, maybe she'll grow heavier than what she attained now. I call her commitment, willpower.

With our discussion this morning, I decided to start making a commitment to start losing weight right now by making a few simple changes like drinking a glass of water rather than having an afternoon coke, walk up and down a flight of our stairs for 10 minutes rather than using my siesta time eating a snack, get up 10 minutes early and go for a brisk walk rather than hitting the snooze button (which I'm guilty of...) or do 10 minutes of exercise rather than watching television after work. Committing to this plan doesn't assure me to lose weight overnight but isn't it better to permanently change my life for the better? My friend suggested that while sticking on this plan and doing them, I have to recite this ten times a day: My Health Is More Important Than My Appearance.

Will you join me on my way to better health? You should! Let's not forget to have willpower to say yes to better health.

Thank you so much
