WAHMaholic indeed!

Nope, not me. That "-ic" suffix hasn't yet find any compatible words to describe any manifestation of addiction that pertains ME...LOL! WAHMaholic is Mommy Kaye who's addicted to being a Work At Home Mom.

The site's layout which she personally designed is simple yet it still manages to keep an attractive look- big header showing a woman in front of her computer comfortably working in her own home with that memory foam slipper hanging loosely. The ambiance resembles Baguio City ( the nature and the couple figure sitting on a bench outside her window makes me think of Baguio - the capital destination for honeymooners...he..he..this is according to my own version) and a glance on it makes me exclaim "This is sooo Kaye!" That's the beauty of having knowledge on web designing , you could bring out the best in your blog's features. I like the pale pink color of the layout's skin , it makes the site so feminine, so neat and clean (OC people will surely love it!) and so cool to the eyes. I could stay hours in front of the computer just gazing on her layout and reading posts because the font that she used (I'm not sure if its Helvetica font)is very readable and stage a clean presence. The layout has 2 columns, manageable advertisers' spaces and chitchat box for the visitors on the sidebar . At the footer ,you could navigate the site's archives , contact the author and click on the adgitize banners (it's important for adgitizers like me:)).

What's in her posts? She journals about her work- money-making online opportunities, blog designs, tips and tricks on wordpress plugins or about GIMP, blog reviews, sponsored reviews , family and friends and anything worth talking about.

Any plan to be a WAHM in the future? Let WAHMaholic show you the way, ladies.

By the way, you may click HERE to know more about the author.

Where do I want to go?

My family is still under recovery stage after we all got sick last week. We love to go somewhere -somewhere cold and got lots of food! LOL! It seems that my appetite is coming back to me now...he..he...

So where would I love to go with my family?

My first choice is SIZZLER. Their eall-all-you-can salad bar is calling for me..LOL!

Next stop will be at the 33rd floor of Lee Gardens Hotel Plaza. The ambiance is cozy and during night time I love to watch the city of Hatyai spread down before us with all its colorful lights.

I need to visit my favorite hair saloon for my hair makeover-cut, permed or rebonding.

I would love to spend a weekend with my family at Haad Kaew Resort. I miss this place.

Random Thoughts of a WAHM

Have you met a blogger who tells you things you never thought of, or didn't know before and tells you things that you do know but that you've never quite formulated for yourself?

I do. Where else? Visit Random WAHM Thoughts. Though the author claimed that her site just contains thoughts that lacks any definite plan or order or purpose, still it didn't fail to amaze me with her words of wisdom especially about her initial thoughts on working at home . She left her high-paying job to keep her little princess Svet at home with a parent, rather than in daycare. If only I have a choice, I love to be at home too 24/7. My toddler needs a lot of time and nurture provided by me-his mom and so providing with those things has become K's job, so to speak and her being a work at home mom allows her to contribute financially to the family, too . Isn't it great?

Have you ever thought about what'd women do if they had a penis for a day? or what'd men do if they had a vagina for a day? I never thought about this until I visited K's site. I makes me fall off from my chair laughing. Why I didn't think of that before? LOL!

I love the cool pink and clean template she designed for her site-from the header, skin to footer. You read it right! She DESIGNED her own template! She's a self-learned web designer-she just read how to do the codings and tweakings of html and then she's able to make her own layout! I wish I could do it, too. She even designed my fashion blog's template which is uber cute and my siggy found every after posts I made. There's something unique about her mouse pointer which I haven't seen in other site and that already make her a stand out. See it for yourself.

Lists of frequent commenters are displayed on the sidebar . This means that every comments are counted and monitored. So left her some love messages once in a while. Companies/site where she earned (proof of how much she earned from each site is visible too) are shown on the sidebar . You can click these sites to earn while blogging. This is a great reference site for WAHMers , for girls and for every blogger. I'm sure you would all love to read anything in her posts- post with a blend of humor with knowledge and information. Random WAHM Thoughts is one of the blogs I can't ignore if not appreciate it.

One more thing, K is a friend worth keeping, my Marce for life and I'm so glad I know her. I just wish that she'll have the best of life this year and the years to come. She's co-hosting the biggest blog contest I've ever known. Interested to join? Click HERE!

Anak ni Kulapo makes me LOL!

I missed jokes. It helps me bring back the forgotten smile. I read some English jokes but it doesn't make me laugh out loud like what Filipino jokes did to me. Just today, I visited Anak ni Kulapo, a humor and funny blog owned by Buraot written in Filipino (Philippines' national language). Oh boy, his blog makes me laugh out loud which I haven't done for a long time. If he's a politically-driven analyst and romantic poet/essayist in I am Buraot, Anak ni Kulapo brings the other side of him.

Telling a joke can be a risky task for bloggers. That's why this blog has a warning for PG-13/PG-75 stating that some of the scenes aren't suitable for children. Parental Guidance is needed. if you're too old, you need the guidance of a much younger person because there are some scenes that you might not understand...he..he...Now that warning already spread smiles on my sad face today.

I like the way he keep his humor post short -a few sentences in building up the punch line that it packs the wallop like "Ang Mahiwagang Tool ni Andoy" (The Mysterious Tool of Andoy) .

Try to read "Ang Walastik na Bagong Office Policy" ( The New Fantabulous Office Policy) where he laid out memos for Dress Codes to Lunch breaks. You'll laugh at them but there's great impact on the real message he is trying to convey. I feel a certain "command" to read on. That's how enticing his articles are.

His topics are categorized so it's just easy for you to choose what topics interest you the most. I'm just having a slight problem with my automatic downloader coz it pop up every time I visited Anak ni Kulapo. So I need to click on the "stop" button under the "KuyuQuote of the Day" anytime I open a post.

Visit Anak ni Kulapo, put your smiley faces on, coz you'll be in for a bumpy ride! His jokes humble me who's sometimes puffed with my own ego. It teaches me to laugh at myself, laugh at the issues I encounter, question some of my beliefs and thoughts and recognize some of my fears and actions.

Some kind of Buraot

Did you noticed that blinking widget under my Entrecard account? It's an Entredropper Entrecard generator where you could drop 300 Entrecard credits in minutes! It's a free service brought by Buraot and his friends. The name itself "Buraot" is so catchy that I even googled the meaning of it. I know that it's a Tagalog word but because Tagalog is just a second language of mine, I need to know what it means coz I'm intrigued why the blog shouted "I am Buraot". There must be something about the author. After I read the meaning of it, all I can say is "No, he's not!". Buraot is a Tagalog slang for "tanga" (stupid) or "dupang"-taong talamak ang kasuwapangan; sakim baga..( somewhat like greedy). It doesn't fit the author.

He's the complete opposite of "Buraot". He's much of a giver, a generous sponsor of my first ever blog contest where he sponsored $50! ( not to mention the free service of the Entredropper Entrecard generator he shared to the masses) He takes time to reply to your comments and inquiries ( that's what I noticed when I read the comment section).

The look and feel of the site is awesome (maybe it in its clean look supported by a legible content presentation). I am particularly happy with the availability of site map in his blog. This helps visitors like me find pages on the site especially the categories organized in hierarchical fashion from Diplomacy and the World, Love and Relationship to Web development! The Surviving post will make you remember your dead loveones , think that time will come that you'll be there too and if that time will come, I agree with him that if we could only choose how to die- die painlessly or die a good death. Just by sharing his own vision of life makes me value my life more today. Life is precious and too short. You see, he's a good writer that attracts the reader. His posts showcased creativity, vivid imagination and his passion for writing.

Buraot? No he isn't! He's not stupid. He's not greedy. He has ability to give an infinite amount of attention to detail, a knowledge of the short story form, a good understanding of grammar, punctuation and spelling, a commitment to clarity of thought and expression. He loves to share his talent, time and even his money!

In totality, writing is his lifestyle and that's a gift from God which I love to have (I'm dreaming out here...)

By the way, I haven't yet known his real name. Do I have to search for that?

Wanna know him more? Then visit I am Buraot today!

My prayer for today

Lord, everything seems to be falling apart around me. Everybody wants a piece of me. There's far too much to do and never enough time to do it. My head is clogged with all kinds of junk and my heart is ready to break. Lord, where are You? I feel like the disciples in the storm, the waves are too big for me. My cry is the same as theirs, "Somebody go and get Jesus - I'm about to drown out here!" Prince of Peace I need you. Father, who never slumbers nor sleeps; take charge. Let me find in You a quiet place, a place where I can pillow my head on Your breast, hear Your loving heartbeat and feel secure knowing You'll work things out for me. This I pray, believing, in Jesus' name, amen.

Where am I?

I noticed that my last post was January 9 and I haven't updated this blog since then. Where am I? Well, I'm busy chasing my tot at Adventures with Hyzyd...he..he..I even give away 1K entrecard credits to 5 commentators who could answer the question "What's Hyzyd's fave part of the house?". It's just for fun. With your answer on comment page, you could right away earn a thousand EC. I still have 2 slots remaining there. Interested?

My time for blogging lessens this time. I decided to blog when Hyzyd is asleep already. I don't want to miss his adventures these days as he's rapidly growing in physique and awareness of his surroundings. He loves to talk to me with his own language plus those silly facial expressions . I read to him Bible stories before he went to bed. He showers us first with his sweet kisses before he lay down his head.
this is our latest photo this year...laki na ng baby ko:)

Today I received my dual-sided customizable leather camera case for just $3.99 with free shipping included from Arscow. It's padded and printed on either side, I can now protect and parade my camera and case amongst my friends...LOL! It's just a little bit small for my bulky camera..he..he...
camera case from Artscow

Hyzyd's nanny will go to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on Friday until Monday to renew her tourist visa. That means I don't have a choice but to be absent from my class . I even asked my hubby if he could get a leave from his work so that I could only have 1 absent. It seems impossible on his part because their final test is fast approaching. We're looking for someone to temporarily take care of Hyzyd on Friday and Monday .We just hope my co-teacher's MIL is available. She used to take care of Hyzyd when he's 4 months old until 8 months. I'll talk to her tomorrow. If not...hope the school will allow me to be absent for 2 days! I don't have a choice:( Will they allow me to bring my son to school and they're going to take care of him while I'm having my class? I don't think so.

Can anyone out there help me?

You can in prayer.

Thank you.

Sawadee Pee Mai, Kha! (Thai language for Happy New Year!)

It's been a week since new year and I haven't got a chance to visit this blog of mine. It's just that I'm busy blogging in my other sites (think of 5) , teaching, cooking, household chores and handling tot on a loose...LOL!

About my class, I'm doing great and my students didn't fail to impress me of their improvement and enthusiasm to learn more in English. They love our songs so much that they would beg to repeat it a thousand times...LOL!

I'm just glad that those who won't particulate before had already overcome their fear and start joining the class and the action songs. Some of them even stand out!

I'm especially glad for "Nawng Chit" (the photo I shown below) who won't sing with us nor stand when I called him amidst the teacher's persuasion for the past months but now he actively sing and participate. Oh what a joy it bring to my heart!

I just hope we have all a prosperous new year. For all the teachers: Continue to do your best for your students. Pray for them and enjoy them. Declare blessings for them instead of curse. We have great influence for our students' life. Teaching is a noble ministry.

Just glad he participates:)

Gift-giving on New Year

Aside from my hubby, I didn't receive Christmas gifts from friends...he..he...but I do receive gifts on new year. As you see, Thailand doesn't celebrate Christmas but celebrating New Year is a big deal for them.

New Year gift-giving traditions has its roots from earlier times. Today, every country has adopted this tradition of gifting. The idea behind gift-giving was to greet each other with warm wishes on the auspicious day of the year, January 1. It is believed that this tradition is the best way to heal up sour relations and develop a feeling of togetherness and love for whom you care. That is why we say it with flowers and presents. So, people across the world love to follow this tradition.

Here's what I received from my co-teachers:

My hubby received his share too from his co-teachers. I haven't included the silk necktie in here.

How about you? Did you receive any gifts this new year?

Ezy roller and other unique and personalized gift items for your kids

One of my new year's resolution this new year is to find the kind of unique gift for my Hyzyd to adore. I browse the "aisles" of Posy Lane to find that unique and personalized gift items for kids. Here's the top 3 that I pick:

1. Ezy roller- It combines the control of a bike and the fun of a scooter, it’s one unique ride and it’s super fun!

The Ezy-Roller uses a locomotion principle called cambering motion. It uses a simple left / right movement (in this case created by the legs pushing on the moving front bar) to create an action / reaction very similar to the one used by snakes. Kids as young as three can master the art of the Ezy roller but at Posy lane, you can find the Ezy roller for Junior as young as 2! This would be a perfect gift for Hyzyd when he reaches 2 on October!

2. personalized pillowcases- Hyzyd loves pillows. Everytime he see one, he couldn't resist to "dive" on it, roll over it and just simply lay on the pillow while I do something else. When he's not in a mood just offer him a pillow and tantrums will be gone...LOL! Now that he's almost 15 months old, I wanted to buy him new standard sized pillows (19"x29") fitted in pillow cases with his name on it! It's adorable and I'm sure he's going to love it and with his name added on it just adds that extra touch to make him really special.

3. nap mat-I need one more nap mat for Hyzyd. Having a nap mat can also help make nap time more inviting for my him. Nap mats can easily be rolled up which makes them great for traveling with. I'm looking for nap mats that come with built in pillows and blankets that are sewn onto one side of the mat, making sleeping on it much more comfortable. With this, it may help him look forward to napping.

Do you have any ideas of unique and personalized gift items for your kids? I love to hear from you.

Greetings from Japan

I wanna thank Mommy Bambie of Azumi for the greeting card and desk calendar you've sent to me. It was placed on my table while I'm gone taking my lunch. It's so sweet of you. It really brings warm to my heart knowing that you do care and wish good things for me and for my family this new year.

I love the desk calendar! I needed one so much that I'm looking at the nearby store to buy for myself. Good thing that it's out of stock because something best awaits for me- a desk calendar all the way from Japan!

Thank you so much! Stay blessed with your family and to your princess, Azumi.

Happy New Year!

This is how we celebrate our new year's party

If in Philippines, we would definitely celebrate Christmas Party in our workplace, it's the New year's party that they celebrated in here (Thailand) .

As usual, we celebrated our party in Daichii Hotel (Dec.30) . This time of the year, they chose the theme for the party "Rainbow" where each department was assigned a certain color of the dress that you're going to wear. I wonder if there's color "black" and "White" in rainbow?..he..he...By the way, Daichii Hotel is a very big hotel but I wonder why the school chose the smaller spot. We're crowded in one round table (about 11 persons) . Food is served while having the program-serving the food one dish at a time! Just imagine 11 persons eating 1 serve of dishes. It isn't enough for us! LOL! I tell you I went home famished...LOL!

Imagine only 1 dish for each dishes served for 11 persons, 4 of these are male.
Is it enough?

Let's forget about the food. Let's focus on the program. I think no one can beat how we Filipinos plan our program. In here, there's discoing "in-betweens" and so much talking . They're laughing here and there and I don't know what's going around coz I don't understand Thai language that much...ha..ha...ha...

disco time! (in the middle of the program)

I danced while covering my ears!!! What a deafening music!!!

What I'm nervous about is our presentation. The foreigner teachers (7 of us) decided to present song numbers for male- My Love by Westlife and You Raise me Up by Josh Groban. The three of us females will sing and dance "Dancing Queen". It's been 8 years already since my college days that I've been onstage. I had stage fright at that time but I was quite happy of the result. The manager was impressed of our participation coz it's the first time that their foreign teachers participated in an event such as that. It's customary in here that once you participated, you'll receive cash awards. Mind you, our talent fee is expensive...LOL!

the "Dancing Queens"

I joined a game which is new to me! Each contestant tied a small balloon to each ankle. Then to the accompaniment of the music, we ran around trying to stamp on our competitors' balloons while avoiding having mine burst. In this game, when your balloons are burst, you're out. Last one with an intact balloon is the winner. I'm one of the three contestants who has 1 balloon that remains intact. This enjoyable but very tiring game awarded me a photo frame...he..he...(not bad)
a photo before the game

Let the game begin!

The survivors! Can anyone beat my acrobatic stunt in here? LOL!

We went home almost midnight after distribution of gifts.

Look what I've got-a wooden hanger stand...LOL!

with some of my co-workers and our principal (seated)

Happy New year 2010! Holiday's over and we'll go back to school on Monday. How I wish we still have 1 week holiday vacation..waaahhhhhh!
