Who's the pretty woman? Aside from me , I'll feature the other pretty woman, Julia Roberts . Today's theme for Tuesday Couch Potatoes is all about the movies of Julia Roberts.

Pretty Woman is the first movie of Julia Roberts that I've watched when I'm still in elementary. This romantic comedy made her known which grossed $463 million worldwide. Maybe all TCP entrants know already the story of this movie. To tempt you if you haven't seen it, it is a story of a feisty, good-hearted hooker named Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) who is hired for a week by a wealthy businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere)to serve to serve as his escort at a number of business related social functions. Needless to say, the relationship doesn't stay 'just business' for long.

What can I say that hasn't been said? This immensely popular, modern fairy tale romance is a fantastic, funny, charming and romantic film that was a big hit. I can't resist watching it every single time it comes on TV.

For me it's a great Cinderella movie...don't miss it.

Fish Spa Experience

Have you tried fish spa? It is a new, fun and relax kind of foot spa where doctor fish nibbled dead cells from your legs. These will create a smoother, softer, healthier and shinier skin EVERYDAY! So Marce Peh, this is the answer of your question, these are not tilapia (but I've heard that others used tilapia to lure the customers so after you asked me I went back and take a closer look to the fish, they're not tilapia) the fish used are called Doctor Fish , it's a freshwater fish used for treating skin diseases in Turkey. Doctor fish is the name given to two species of fish: Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. Other nicknames include nibble fish, kangal fish, little dermatologists and doctorfishen.

We have the luxury of experiencing fish spa at Diana Mall. Medium-size fish spa are set up near the back door of the mall (back door is our entrance to the mall). It's been two weeks there and we saw lots of customers dipping their legs or hands in there (so it's not only for foot) and they seemed to enjoy the treatment. Hyzyd loves to watch the fish every time we go in there.

Last Friday for curiosity sake we tried the well-known foot spa. First, your feet will be washed to ensure that they're clean before you dip them into the water.

Then , dip your feet into the water slowly .



Just by seconds, hundreds of Doctor fish surrounded my feet and start nibbling. It's very tickling at first , causing you to laugh and twitch. I don't know if people who are sensitive to tickling could survive the spa...!


After 15 minutes (yeah we choose only the shortest time for 100 baht ($3.10) ), the session ended and we have tea while the attendant massage our legs with seaweed lotion.

Tips for fish treatment:
1. Avoid sharing the tank with strangers. It's nice to have the session with your family.
2. You will only get visibly smoother and softer skin only if you do the fish spa treatment regularly. Three times a week, maybe.

Get rid of your skin problem in a natural and comfortable way! Marce Seiko, Doctor fish could help get rid of stinky feet but please if you have this session, don't dip your feet with strangers who have stinky feet . Whew! It's Saturday already and as I checked my last post was only last Monday. Where am I? I'm taking a break from blogging for a while.I needed a time for myself with God because I felt that I'm running after "online opportunities" and they kept on evading me..! It's summer time, it's vacation (though I'm on staycation mode) and I'm supposed to enjoy it instead of killing myself with pressures to stay online for the whole day looking ways to earn even in little ways or fretting on how to survive.

You see on April we're on vacation which means we don't have work so there's no salary at the end of the month. We've been asking our schools to grant us even half of our salary on April but still those pleas fall on deaf ears. There's no such thing as bonuses , 13th month pay or salary increase in our school.

But hey don't you worry for us, God is good to us. We've survived for the past 3 years, I know the same thing is going to happen for us this month and the months to come. Why worry when we can pray, right?

Though my school has some shortcomings, I'm still grateful to God for the following:

1. my school is one of the schools who offered higher salary for Filipino teachers here in Hatyai City
2. my co-teachers (both foreigners and Thai) are kind, accommodating, helpful and won't stab you on your back
3. we could cash advance during emergencies
4. pay for our visa fees and work permit (other schools won't cover these expenses)

I've been working on my other blog Our adventures Together, so you'll usually meet me there. It gained PR 2 so once in a while I've been offered to write some sponsored posts there. I'm also helping a Thai friend about her thesis "Efficiency of using Role-playing in developing Listening and Speaking Skills in English of Mathayomsuksa1 students". We're still on Chapter 2 on Review of Literature and related Research. This also eating my time. She promised to pay me for my hours spent on doing the research. This would be a great help in finances.

our weekend spree at Songkhla Aquarium

Last Saturday, my family and my brother's family went out to visit Songkhla Aquarium. The place reminds me of what I used to teach before to my BS Fisheries students- parts of the fish and anything about fish! I'm just a bit disappointed because I don't have the right camera to get a better photo inside the dark aquarium (we're not allowed to use the flash) but anyway what's important is that I have time to visit this wonderful place and had the chance to appreciate the undersea life.

Entrance fee for us is 100 baht per person including my 17 months old toddler but I saw on their banner that foreigner adult's admission fee is 300 baht while children are charged 200 baht. Does this mean we're categorized as "Thai"? Not bad...we enjoyed the discount...Before we roamed around the aquarium we have the chance to watch the feeding show! Hyzyd was soooo excited that we can't stop him from running in front!

Songkhla Aquarium is more than an aquarium! If you have enough budget, you could also savor the relaxing feeling of fish spa which will cost you 200 baht per 25 minutes (I'll feature this one later) . Outside the aquarium, if you want the ultimate sightseeing experience then look no further than renting a GoCar for their speedway or the ATVs off-the-road-single or duo. Enjoy a stunning scenic cruise of Songkhla aquarium Beach aboard the paddle boat, kayak, Jetski or on a banana boat!
