I'm a WINNER!

Since I started joining raffle contest here in blogosphere last February 2009, I kept on winning and winning (maybe I'll make a list here for the sake of record and just as a remembrance to myself ). For this month, I won the The Beautiful Creatures Children’s Songs of Africa CD by Ed Jordan and Alan Grass . Am I truly blessed or it's just simply a stroke of luck? I'm on my last year of being in 20's and next year will be the start of my life in 30's. There are so many things I started to consider especially with my beauty regimen. They inspire me

This is my official entry for Marce
Chris first blogversary of Inspirational Insights .

To inspire means "To affect, guide, or arouse by divine influence" defined by the Free Dictionary. So what inspires me?

My mom. I witnessed how she subdue self-will in a child and work together with God. She taught us to pray as soon as we can speak. She gave us nothing we cry for and only give what is good for us if we asks for it politely. To prevent lying, she punishes no fault that is freely confessed but never allow a rebellious sinful act to go unchecked. She commends and rewards good behavior. She strictly observes all promises she made for her children. That's my mom. I'm so proud of her and I often try to emulate her way of life.

My dad. I have been VERY blessed by being one of his 14 children! My father's undivided attention for me by treating me as your only child when I'm talking, even though you have 14 children inspires me. He's the one who holds me securely by his arm when I take my faltering first steps. He always make sure that I abide by what is being said to me at the cost of appearing strict. He's there at my bedside caressing my hair strands when I'm not feeling that well only to assure me that everything will be o.k. He loves me with an unconditional love and protect us all with all his might. His blessed marriage with Mama inspires us to be the best in our marriage life. His commitment and undying devotion to God encourages us to continue serving God through thick and thin. No matter how old I am, I'm always be my father's little girl.

My husband. His unconditional love for me is undeniable. He touched my life and made my dreams come true. He has taught my heart to sing songs just for him. He inspires me to be the better wife God intended me to be.

My son. The moment I laid my eyes on my baby, I can't help it but cry with joy. He's one of the greatest gifts God has entrusted upon us. I promise myself to be the best mom for my baby. He means so much to me. He gives more meaning to my life. His smile erases my weariness and worries. His baby talk means a sweet music to my ear that soothe my soul. His cry touches my heart that as I reach out for him, it's my prayer that I'll always be there for him. He's the prince of my life, the best son of his dad and the cuddly angel of his grandparents, titos and titas. I love him so much. It is my prayer that God will empower me to teach him His ways and be the mom he'll be proud of. It is my daily prayer that God will give him the best in this life and he'll grow up into a fine young man leading a righteous and upright life. He inspires me to be a better mom each day.

My siblings. They all look up to me. They respected me and so proud of me. I'm inspired to be the best "Ate" for them.

My students. (alias "my little creatures") . They all are different worlds, full of love, energy, passion and confusion at the same time. I've been teaching this group of kids for two years now and there hasn't been a day that I didn't think what I could do to make their lives and learning English better because they make me be a more creative, patient, understanding, loving and caring person.It's really amazing to see these children who I teach are the same I'm being taught by .

Good news, finally!

We stopped using the rain water coz we finally have our WATER! It was last Friday that I decided to write the landlord regarding how I badly felt about his negligence and stated our option to move and demanded him to give us back our deposit money coz it's not us who break the contract but it's HIM coz he's not taking good care of his tenants. I write it because he couldn't understand English so when it's in written form, he could bring it to his friend who knew the English language and hopefully he could translate it to him. Talking will do no good to him coz he couldn't understand me. It's soooo frustrating to get mad to somebody and you couldn't properly expressed how you felt. At least on writing, he has the chance to know how displeased I am!

I handed the letter through his helper coz he's not around and when we got home we found out that we already have water! I tried to take back the letter but I'm convinced that giving him the letter is for the better-I'm released from anger. He will also be aware how mad I got with his negligence (though he rubbed the blame to the municipality's water district, I don't care. He has responsibility to follow-up them every single minute of the day!) .

So with the WATER, no more migraine for me. I've washed all that needed to be washed, mopped the floor and wash every corner of the house. Though the house is not yet as immaculately clean as before at least my mind and heart are now resting. Maybe my inspiration to blog will be back again. No need for us to move again (for the 3rd time!).

We're safe and sound

This is to assure all my friends who expressed concerns about our situation here in Thailand that by God's grace we're all fine. The news that you heard, the bombings and fire happened in Bangkok which is 14 hours away from us. My Thai friend who's studying in Thailand assured us that he's safe too. He's quite far from where it's all happening.

The following is the photo I grabbed from my Thai friend. The photo was compared to the devastated city of LA in the movie Resident Evil 4. It's disheartening to know that it's what's happening in Bangkok.

Because of what happened curfew and sate of emergency was declared by the government to the following provinces: Bangkok , Nakhon Pathom, Chon Buri, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakarn, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya,Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Si Sa Ket, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nan, Lampang,Nakhon Sawan, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Nong Bua Lumpu, Roi Et, Sakhon Nakhon, Ubon Ratchathani.

We're in Songkhla province and we're not included but still we need to be careful.

Quickie post: My week

For the first time in my life, I conducted my class smoothly without looking at my watch if my time is up already. Is it a good indication that I'm enjoying my teaching? It felt like 50 minutes is only 5-minutes for me. I like this kind of feeling and I hope it will continue for the rest of the school year.

Why...oh why?

Every time I open this page to create a new post, I was left the whole time so I'll just browse other pages, facebooking until time is up for me and do the household chores without doing anything here in my blog. Have I lost my passion in blogging or am I just tired ? I won't write if I feel like not doing it ...or maybe because we still don't have WATER and I silently the owner. I need some attitude checking these days. I need more time with God, He alone has perfect WAYS when there seems to be no way.

Having 6 blogs to maintain is stressing me too. Why did I bought domains in the first place and have 6 blogs to maintain if I can't handle them? Oh just never mind me, all I need is just a rest ...I'm even confused why I'm blabbing here. See you next time when I'm all WELL again

"21" is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings. The story evolves on Ben Campbell who's a young, highly intelligent, student at M.I.T. in Boston who strives to succeed. Wanting a scholarship to transfer to Harvard School of Medicine with the desire to become a doctor, Ben learns that he cannot afford the $300,000 for the four to five years of schooling as he comes from a poor, working-class background. But one evening, Ben is introduced by his unorthodox math professor Micky Rosa into a small but secretive club of five after he was impressed of Ben's math's skill-students Jill, Choi, Kianna, and Fisher, who are being trained by Professor Rosa of the skill of card counting at blackjack. Intrigued by the desire to make money, Ben joins his new friends on secret weekend trips to Las Vegas where, using their skills of code talk and hand signals, they have Ben make hundreds of thousands of dollars in winning blackjack at casino after casino. Ben only wants to make enough money for the tuition to Harvard and then back out. But as fellow card counter, Jill Taylor, predicts, Ben becomes corrupted by greed and his arrogance at winning which lets his feelings get in the way, and it also puts Professor Rosa, as well as the group, on the radar of a brutal casino security enforcer, named Cole Williams, who holds a personal grudge of some kind against Rosa which threatens to undo everything the students have learned and earned.

The movie had suspense, a solid plot line, scattered funny scenes, and a good ending . It's entertaining so better watch it.

Today is a special day. Aside that it's Election Day in Philippines, the MARCE Club is celebrating the natal day of one of the marces- Marce Seiko! Happy Birthday to you marce! You're such a blessing to me. Your generosity in terms of your time, support (in blog contests and other areas where we badly needed you) and encouragement through your comments blessed me so much. God has bestowed to you a beautiful and happy family, a flourishing career, a bright future, faithful friends and all the luxury of this life and yet you remained humble. I could wish you leaves of gold and that may your path be smooth. I could wish you treasures and may all your dreams come true. I could wish you paradise and a lot more but I wish you JESUS more than anything. Coz if I wish you JESUS I wish you everything!

Happy Mother's Day to the greatest woman on earth!

I have the "one-of-a-kind" mother and she's quite extraordinary for all of us-her children. What makes her extraordinary is the fact that God entrusted her with 14 children! Yes, we are 14 and I am the eldest. I am blessed by what I learned at my mother's knee. I am blessed with a mother who taught me that the law of love and Christian witness is to be our daily guide. I noticed that my mother spends an hour each day praying for her children no matter how hectic her schedule is as a director in a pre-school ministry and as my father's partner in his speaking engagements. I still remember those times I woke up in the middle of the night or at dawn hearing mom's prayer for me and declaration of blessings in my studies, travel (I'm commuting everyday in going to school before), my spiritual growth and even my love life! I knew that she's doing the same thing to all my siblings. In addition, she took each child aside for a full hour every week to discuss spiritual matters.

My mom is my best best friend. I could share to her my everything from my favorite undies to ups and downs of marriage life. My mom is my friends' favorite mom. How they wish she's their mother! Everyone told her their problems because she know how to listen and connect with kids. She's a great pal and a great mom. My mom is tougher than she looks and more beautiful than she thinks, smarter that she'd claim in public and kinder than you could imagine.

I look like my mom and she looks like me. Those who knew my mom and will see me for the first time share the same question " Are you Ma'am Genei's daughter?" And those who knew me and will see my mom for the first time will ask " Is Genebei Faith's your daughter?" When we confirmed that they're right and followed up with the question "How did you know?" They blurted "You look the same!"
