I'm Genebei Faith. I am a Filipino ESL Teacher here in Thailand . I'm Gene to my family but Teacher Jenny here in the "Land of Smiles". I'm married for 3 years already to my only boyfriend sengihnampakgigi and we got a 2-year old bubbly son. By the way, many asks me if my hubby's a Thai. Nope, he's not. He's a pure-bred Filipinosengihnampakgigi.

I came here in Thailand on March 2006. Before that I used to be a college instructor in the Philippines for almost three years. Teaching is my passion and it runs in our blood-my mom is a teacher, my dad is training teachers and both of my brothers who's next to me are also teachers. Do I need to mention that my hubby, sis-in-law, aunties and uncles are all teachers too? Maybe we all like the idea that teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professionsfikir.

I love reading thriller novels of Sydney Sheldon and Agatha Christie. I'm quite introverted. I value my time alone. I really love PINK. Pink lovers are lovers of beauty. I'm friendly, charming, and warm. I get along with almost everyone.

My son, Hyzvhann Hyzydyll "Hyzyd" is the main reason why I started blogging. I wanted to chronicle his life's journey online so that his grandparents will be able to "see" him grow even we're miles away. I wanna express my gratitude for my friends Ate Litlit, Ate Love and Ate Janet for the motivation and inspiration to start a blog on my own. They're also my channel of information that I could earn while blogging. Since then I'm unstoppable...LOL! To date, I have 7 blogs with their own domains- Adventures with Hyzyd and Beyond, Tasty Exploration, Away from Home, Fashion Explorer, Genefaith's Home, Teaching Moments plus this main blog.

How do I juggle blogging with my hectic schedule? Since last year, I wake up as early as 3:00 am to start blogging and stop at 5:00 am to prepare breakfast for the family, send my 2-year old to his babysitter and be at school before 8:00 am. When I have lots of online tasks, I squeeze them into my lunch break from 11:30 am-1:00 pm. I don't blog in the evening because I train my son to be on bed before 9:00 pm. That means I'll be snoring my night away starting that time. I started to appreciate what my mom used to say "Early to bed and early to rise makes "my lil Gen-gen" healthy, wealthy and wise".

It's a pleasure meeting all of you. There will be times that it takes time to visit you back but I promised I'll be there anytime I'm free. And if ever you'll visit Thailand, don't hesitate to drop me a line. I'll be here waiting for you in Hatyai City with open arms and sweet smile.

Experience new things like Fish Spa!

Visit new place with the family- Songkhla Aquarium!

We've finally found a place where we could say "we're at home!"

My parent's celebrated their Diamond wedding! We're so blessed of their marriage and how they displayed their love for each other since we're kids until now that we have our own family. Their sweetness and thoughtfulness to each other reminds us to be the same with our partners. May their hearts' desire for our marriages and for the upcoming marriages of their children be a living testimony to this world that with JESUS, everything is possible to keep marriages ALIVE!

I finally learned tambourine dancing! I've been dreaming about it since I'm in elementary.

Celebrated Hyzyd's 2nd birthday in a special way with friends! I can't believe it too that I'm married to a suave, sexy, smart, and strong partner for three sweet years already!

We survived the flood that hit the city!

This is the year I started to explore colorful shoes like blue and red!

One of the greatest gift we had on year 2010 is that we finally booked our flight to Philippines! We could finally spend our summer vacation in Philippines on April 2011. I can't wait to see our love ones.

I thank God for my family. They are my inspiration. Because of my hubby and my son, I became the woman God wants me to be- a wife and a mom . Because of them, I embraced not to seek fame but to serve others. Because of them, I drew closer to God and I'm driven to do something greater than my image because I know that my eternal reward is greater than anything I can drive, wear, live in, or hang on a wall.

I thank God for my friends -those that I could interact physically and those whom I met in blogosphere (you know who you are..he..he..) . Thank you all for being such good friends. You are always around when I need you, always willing to listen when I need to talk, and always ready to organize something fun when I need a break. You are one of the most important people in my life, and when I count my blessings I always think of you. You were always around to lend a hand and tell a joke. I appreciate that more than you know.

I thank God for everything! Year 2011 is here and I can't wait to explore new opportunities and new adventures with the Lord. Amidst everything (amidst my drama on new year) , I could say, "I have indeed a blessed and happy new year to look forward to!"

Happy New Year everybody!

Our new year's eve was supposed to be celebrated this way...

We're Christians in a non-Christian environment. We supposed to host a Christian New Year's Eve Party but something went terribly wrong that night that I ended sleeping with tears with our tyke. If I could just turn back the time, this is what I wanted to happen in our New Year's Eve with my family and girl friends:

We'll gather together to thank God for the year that has passed. We'll share the special blessings that we've received in year 2010. We are told in 1 Chronicles to "give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, and make known among the nations what He has done."

Then we'll sing songs and play games. Fun games for all ages can include "Catch Phrase," charades, or any other family-oriented games. I've tons of games that just need to be printed or reproduce simply by document scanning.

I missed this-ending the evening with prayer. Prayer could be led by one individual, or open to all to express thanks and supplication to God. We'll pray for things such as peace in the coming year. We'll pray for government leaders, social injustice, spiritual growth for the children, and the Lord's protection, and other things that we want to share.

How about you, how did you celebrate your New Year's Eve Party? I hope it's not depressing as mine.

Her and History

A New Year With The Lord

A new year is about to unfold
With new opportunities to explore
Doors will open for new experiences
New adventures with the Lord

Remember not the former things
The things of this past year
The Lord will do new things in us
Much more than we are aware

For He will make a way for us
As we put our trust in Him
And He will guide our every step
By His presence we have within

What God has placed within our hearts
We find we’ll be able to do
If we look for the opportunities
We’ll see the door to go through

We mustn’t let anything hold us back
But rise up and take our place
And be all that God wants us to be
With a fresh touch of His grace
